Waterline
Artwork for Week 3

At Water Level: At Eye Level

Video projection of images of the three levels of water- below water, on the water level and above the water line. This video installation is to be projected onto a building at night. The building will be transformed by an eerie and beautiful projection consisting of the movement of blue water.

This work reflects on what is involved in a water crossing. Many people travelling here have arrive on very small overcrouded boats. Many not sure if they will even last the journey, indeed, boats have sunk or turned back as they take on water. The crossings are long and arduous. Water in all directions. This work hopes to convey the immensity of water, which suurounds our entire country, and allows viewers to reflect on their own associations with water.
